Ice Bucket Challenge

Ditzy Doodles having an ‘ice’ day! Photography Warren Miller Photography http://warrenmillarphotography.com/

Ditzy has had quite a busy summer, she had a fab time face painting at the Labour Party Fun Day at the Halton Arms in Runcorn, she had also been nominated to take part in the Ice Bucket Challenge.
She wanted to raise funds for a dear friend of The Party Squad, a young man called Conor Durkin O’Brien.  Conor, age 11 has a condition called Spinal Muscular Atrophy, it effects his entire body, he is chair bound, and can’t walk or talk.  Sadly his beautiful mum Julianne Durkin O’Brien unexpectedly passed away 1st August, it has been a total shock and left everybody including her husband Phil, and two beautiful boys Conor and Cameron devastated.  Before Julianne’s death, she wanted to start a campaign to raise £6000 for a computer aided voice system so Conor could finally have a voice.  Now Ditzy Doodles, thought the Fun Day would be the perfect event to help raise funds towards this much needed piece of equipment!  Thanks to all who donated on the day and via the fundraising page, she managed to raise just over £240.

If you would like to help Conor have a voice, please donate to http://gogetfunding.com/project/in-memory-of-julianne-durkin-o-brien
